A Connaught chair by George Jack

A Connaught chair designed by George Washington Jack for Morris & Co covered in Bird pattern fabric designed by William Morris.

This chair belonged to Hugh Thackeray Turner the Arts and Crafts architect and accomplished ceramic decorator. He and his wife were friendly with William Morris and the two wives establish a sewing guild so it is more than likely that the chair ws acquired from Morris himself.
